SCULPTURES OF GIRIBALDI

The lobby leading to the entrance of the last rooms is home to three female busts by the Asti sculptor Giribaldi (Asti 1870 – Sao Paulo 1951).

Giribaldi trained under Bistolfi and produced monuments for Asti tombs, as well as the Piazza Medici fountain for the opening of the new aqueduct.

The disagreements and controversy that arose with the Fascist municipal council who rejected his design for the monument to the fallen (approved the first time) resulted in his departure for Brazil.
