WORKS BY THE STUDENTS OF PITTATORE

The display presents several works by the students of Pittatore: children’s portraits painted by Giulio Musso (Asti 1851 – 1915); Portrait of The Artist’s Wife by Anacleto Laretto (Grana 1874 – Asti 1950); an intense portrait by Paolo Arri (Portrait of The Artist’s Mother-in-Law, 1898); male and female portraits, both signed by Giovanni Bordone (Asti 1850 – 1876).

The two large canvases by Carlo Nogaro (Asti 1837 – Compiègne 1931), respectively entitled On The Arno, painted in Florence in 1863, and the Italian Ambulance painted in Paris in 1872, referring to his personal experiences during the Prussian War of 1870, when he served in the Italian ambulance assisting the wounded.
